As part of the development of the Exploitation Strategy, AXIA organised the first AccelWater exploitation workshop on January 24th 2022. The workshop aimed at supporting the partners in the identification of KERs and future definition of KERs towards the AccelWater business plans.
The presentations were given by Mrs. Raquel Moreno, Project Manager and Innovation Consultant at AXIA Innovation, supported by her colleague Dr. Marinella Tsakalova.
The workshop involved two parts. The first part, “what to know”, was focused on concepts and theoretical background. The agenda included:
- GENERAL OVERVIEW AND CONCEPTS (result, exploitation, impact, exploitation strategy, KERs)
- IDENTIFICATION OF KERs (type, characterization, possible routes to exploitation)
- PROTECTION OF RESULTS (IPR management, background, foreground)
- OWNERSHIP OF RESULTS (GA and CA definition, joint ownership – agreements)
- ACCESS RIGHTS, minimum access according to GA and CA
- Q&A
The second part, “let´s practice”, was a practical exercise with the attendees, targeting the identification of potential KERs. AXIA presented an overview of the preliminary list of KERs, based on the answers received in the last quarter of 2021, to the first Identification of KERs questionnaire. Followingly, AXIA highlighted some recommendations to avoid common mistakes in KERs identification.
To increase the partners’ engagement, we used the sli.do© platform to make a dynamic session. AXIA created an interactive poll with the question “which of these results are/could be a KER?” including 11 possible answers (multiple choice). The exercise included a final assessment of the answers to this question and an explanation of the possible exploitation routes for each of these results.
The session concluded addressing the partners’ queries and informing the attendees what are the next steps towards the final identification of KERs within AccelWater project.
