ANICAV is also joined with national and international associations, such as:

  • National:
    • Federalimentare, which is an association that represents, protects and promotes the Italian Food and Beverages Industry, the second-highest-ranking Italian manufacturing sector which accounts for 8% of the national GDP, with an annual turnover of over 137 billion Euro. The Italian trade Associations for each food and drink sector are grouped together under Federalimentare, which represents almost 7,000 companies with more than 9 employees each, located throughout Italy.
    • Confindustria, which is the main association representing manufacturing and service companies in Italy, with a voluntary membership of more than 150,000 companies of different sizes, employing a total of 5,438,513 people).
  • International:
    • Association Méditerranéenne internationale de la Tomate (AMITOM), a non-profit making association grouping professional organizations of tomato processors in the Mediterranean region. For more than 30 years since its creation in 1979, this international organisation has been collecting and storing technical and economic data and information on the processing tomato field, from research to final sale).
    • World Processing Tomato Council (WPTC), an international non-profit making organization representing the tomato processing industry worldwide. Currently, its members represent more than 95% of the volume of tomatoes processed worldwide.
    • Tomato Europe Processors Association, formerly known as OEIT, represents the tomato processing industry from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and France, covering around 95% of the European Industry.
    • PROFELm the European Association of Fruit and Vegetable Processing Industries, that represents over 500 companies in 11 European countries through national associations or direct company membership.

Key role(s) in the project

ANICAV, with the collaboration of other partners and CALISPA, will be involved in WP3 by performing a market analysis (field research) by involving the relevant stakeholder (e.g., tomato producers tomato processing company, retailers) with a potential interest to the outcome of project. This activity will include the preparation of questionnaires, interviews and generation of a database. A business plan, based on the Canvas Model, will be also prepared in which the possibilities of exploiting the platform created as part of the project activities will be highlighted. Moreover, ANICAV will be also involved in the organization of an intermediate and a final dissemination event (Workshop) addressed to present the outcome of the project to the main stakeholders as well as to collect letters of interest from companies for joining the platform created as part of the project activities.
