Between 1st and 4th April 2025, the Final Consortium Meeting of the AccelWater project took place in the cities of Patras and Athens, Greece. The 4-day event was a perfect opportunity for all project partners to reflect on the significant progress made, the lessons learned, and the impactful results generated throughout the project’s lifetime.
The meeting kicked off in Patras, with in-depth discussions focused on the progress of Work Packages 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Partners exchanged insights, shared results, and explored the replication potential of key solutions.
On the second day, AccelWater co-hosted a workshop on social awareness for water reuse in collaboration with the BOOST-IN EU project, emphasizing the societal impact of circular water solutions.
Later in the evening, the consortium visited the Industrial Symbiosis Demonstrator in the Industrial Area of Patras. Attendees had guided tours of the demonstration sites at Athenian Brewery, FrieslandCampina Hellas, and REZOS Brands, where they witnessed innovative reuse processes and circular practices in action.
Discussions related to the Work package’s progress resumed on day three, completing the overview of all scientific and implementation achievements of the project.
The final day took place at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, within the framework of the BEYOND Expo 2025. AccelWater was present with a dedicated booth (Hall 3, Stand E25) throughout the three-day exhibition and hosted a dissemination workshop on “Technologies for Circular Economy within Food and Beverage Industries”.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the technologies deployed, explore by-products and value-added products generated through industrial symbiosis, and engage in meaningful discussions with project representatives.
AccelWater has demonstrated that advanced water reuse and circular economy strategies can bring measurable environmental, social, and economic benefits. As the project concludes, its legacy sets a strong foundation for future initiatives and cross-sector collaboration.
