CALISPA, as part of the Di Leo Group, is a company specialized in the production of tomato preserves. Founded in 1966 by Attilio Avino, it is currently in its 3rd generation: 100% of the shares belong to the Di Leo family. Structured on an area of 36,000 square meters, it has a production capacity of 1.2 million quintals of processed tomato, mainly peeled (whole, diced) tomato and tomato paste. Only healthy and genuine products, made according to local traditions and a passion for the taste of good food.

Thanks to 50 years of experience and high flexibility, Calispa it is able to satisfy every kind of need of the modern large-scale distribution, through the personalization of recipes, packaging and service. The selection of raw materials made since the arrival of the tomato in the plant, as well as to modern technology, and the rigid control system put in place by its technicians, make Calispa able to provide high quality and ensure the necessary food safety for the final consumer. The customers of the company include all the major Italian and foreign large-scale retail chains. The company boasts a wide and deep assortment ranging from conventional products, such as peeled, diced or passed tomatoes to the top of the range, such as datterini, very fine pulp, peeled datterini, marzanini, up to the excellence of San Marzano D.O.P. through a complete line of organic products. All available in retail format and ho.re.ca. Calispa exports its products all over the world. Japan and Korea, Australia and New Zealand, the United States and Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland: 50% of the turnover is exported.

Key role(s) in the project
CALISPA will play a key role mainly by supporting PRODAL and the other partners with its expertise, facilities and qualified personnel in the development and implementation of sustainable strategies to reduce water and energy consumption through an integrated approach. Calispa will also support the partner ANICAV in dissemination activity (organization of a final Workshop), and the partner DIGNITY in the inventory stage providing all the needed input.
